It was lovely to meet up with Sarah and to catch up with Carina from The Daylight Centre on Monday, and it was great to find out all about this fantastic local charity, who do much more than you think. I am really looking forward to supporting them with our shops in Wellingborough.
It’s hard to fathom that their foodbank relieves food poverty by distributing over 3600 food parcels a year to those most in need, including fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and dairy, in addition to the standard ambient products, but they do. They provide this service mainly with donations, if you can help please keep an eye on their Facebook page for what they need.
They also provide hot meals and many other essential services to homeless people in Wellingborough at their High Street centre. Plus they have a thriving Veggie Patch, where service users grow lots of fruit and veg, veg boxes available to buy now, and they have a great charity shop on Cambridge Street too!
Sarah, their new Operations Manager, is organising a Christmas Indoor Market on Saturday 9th December 10-3, where there will be lots of small businesses selling craft and festive items, plus serving festive snacks and hot drinks, do join them if you can. Plus Sarah has just introduced a loyalty card for their Veg Boxes, where you get the sixth free!

It’s great to have The Daylight Centre as one of our Co-op causes for the next 12 months, and you can support them too simply by choosing them as your member cause. Simple to do, costs you nothing and they get a donation every time you shop with you little blue card at the Co-op!
