Today, and during this weekend, we welcome thousands of visitors to Wellingborough, it’s the 42nd International Waendel Walk and the lovely people at Wellingborough Town Council have asked me to be their ‘official social media bod’, which is quite a thing so let’s have some fun with it! The start and finish point of all the walks is at The Castle Theatre. Online bookings are still open until midday today, then tickets will be available in The Castle Theatre’s main hall. Stalls with various local companies and community groups on them will be there too.

To join in on social media, just look out for the bird!
Come and say hello to me and my bright orange bird, he’s a little bit cheeky, but then so am I! Do share your stories with me, tell me where you come from and what walks you are doing this weekend. I will be taking pictures and sharing your experiences on social media at:
- @coopmp on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/coopmp/
- @wellycoopmp on Twitter https://twitter.com/wellycoopmp
- And at wellycoopmp on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/wellycoopmp too!
The International Waendal Walk is for everyone!
Join us this evening for the Friendship Walk, a 5km walk with a start time of between 6pm and 6:30pm. This will take us all through the Town Centre and through or just passed four of our town’s lovely parks and gardens. The whole route is accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies.
There are lots of walks on Saturday and Sunday to join in with. Explore Wellingborough and the glorious countryside and villages that surround our town. You are guaranteed a very warm welcome and the weather looks equally warm, have a look at Wellingborough Town Council’s website for more details.
See you on the #waendelwalk!
